I broke my foot and left the Pacific Crest Trail near White Pass (mile 2298) on Labor Day, about two weeks

Nick's Long Walk || Pacific Crest Trail 2001

I am hiking the Pacific Crest Trail to raise money for Bay Area Wilderness Training, a project of the Earth Island Institute in San Francisco, which seeks to improve access to the wilderness for urban youth.

This website has three main sections: The first section (The Trail and Itinerary) contains general information about the PCT and the logistics of my hike. The second section (BAWT and Donate) contains information about Bay Area Wilderness Training and about how you can support the organization by sponsoring Nick's Long Walk. The third section (Journal) contains some background information about me and is where I'll be posting journal entries, photographs, and drawings as I hike the trail.

YOUR PENNY PER MILE IS NOW WORTH TWO!
Thanks to the generosity of the PAC Foundation, who recently committed to match all gifts to Bay Area Wilderness Training up to $10,000, your donation, of any amount, will now be doubled! This means that your gift of two cents per mile ($53) is now worth $106 to BAWT.
